Correspondence among James Teit, Edward Sapir, Frank Shutt (Dominion Chemist), Edwin Hewitt (Dominion Entomologist), James Fletcher, and John Davidson, regarding botanical survey of British Columbia. 31 letters altogether, dating 1897-1919.
Notebook of botanical survey by Teit containing plant names listed alphabetically by Latin scientific name, with notes on English names, observations on how common, notes on locations and some uses, and info on places Teit has seen as them. Locations primarily given are those in general tradition territories of Nlaka'pamux ("Thompson Indians") such as Spuzzum, Nicola, Fraser Canyon, and Spences Bridge, though Teit occasionally gives other locations where he has seen particular plants outside of these areas, elsewhere in British Columbia and in Washington State (e.g. Skykomish) as well. Includes one printed map of British Columbia enclosed within notebook showing areas of a botanical survey that may or may not related to Teit's own survey. Part of a larger file that contains associated loose manuscript pages with notes on similar topics, including Nlaka'pamux plant names.; ACLS section S1b.3. One of two parts.
