Digitized and transcribed early meeting minutes (1774-1785) of the American Philosophical Society. This material offers learning opportunities for scholars, educators, students, and anyone else interested in the early history of APS, Philadelphia, and the early republic.
In the early years of the APS, the Society held meetings on a frequent basis, often monthly. The APS Secretary, or another appointed individual, would record capsule descriptions of the meeting’s content, including, but not limited to: attending Members, election of Members, topics of interests, publications received or sent by Members, letters sent and received by the Society, Society business, publications and collections.
