Abstract | John Wister, Sr writes to his grandchildren in Germantown. He notes that he cannot send the goods they desire as "the merchants will not sell their good, but for hard money, and hard money I have but very little". He also describes that they (presumably the British Army) have "quartered a [Cornl] and his wife and one white man and a Negro" and that they have "taken the 3 best Rooms in my house." Wister complains about the ill treatment, especially in his old age. | ||
