AbstractMinutes that record the disciplining of Timothy Davis, who wrote a piece on taxation [A Letter From A Friend To Some Of His Intimate Friends, On the Subject of paying Taxes (1776)], and that record the disownment of Isaac Howell of Philadelphia, who manifested "a disposition to contend for Civil Rights. . . & accepted & acted in a public Station," and the disownment of John Thompson, who sought "to lay wast[e] & establish Government by Military force & to take a Test to that end."
