CONTENT DESCRIPTION | |||
Abstract | Letter from John Ross to William Temple Franklin. Improved conditions in the country in general. The assistance of France very valuable to the United States. The lack of economy and squandering of the public funds caused much want and distress in the beginning. The Marquis Lafayette has set out for Boston to embark for France. Silas Deane's recently published letter has caused surprise and resentment against him; his strictures on the vanity and folly of some Americans in Europe very often justified. | ||
