CONTENT DESCRIPTION
AbstractIn this broadside the chemist Hare renders the opinion that "it is utterly impossible for six or eight, or any number of persons, seated around a table, to produce an electrical current." Upon his retirement as professor of chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania in 1847, Hare devoted a good deal of time to the investigatin of spiritualism, and much to the chagrin of the Philadelphia scientific establishment published Experimental investigation of the spirit manifestations, demonstrating the existence of spirts and their communication with mortals (1855).
