AbstractLetter from Charles Pettit to Nathanael Greene. Philadelphia - Acknowledging favor of 19th inst. Misunderstanding about the application to the Council for wagons. The Council as susceptible of injury as a gouty foot. Scheme he entertains of reducing the number of Deputies in Pennsylvania; advantages of this arrangement. Amount of Money he is disbursing. Enclosing Captain Rice's letter; also a copy of one from Colonel Finney, announcing the cutting off of thirty of the enemy on an excursion. Hints at two interesting anecdotes which he would tell if he had the time.
