AbstractLetter from Robert Lettis Hooper to J. Okley. Bath - Giving information concerning a Mr. Smith, a captain in the Austrian service, and at one time in the service of the United States; also concerning two French gentlemen, his friends. Thinks there may be no reason for surmises of an evil tendency, but knows that very few foreign officers, who have left the American service in disgust or otherwise, are to be depended upon.
