AbstractInstructs unknown recipient on scientific expedition to Mexico. Suggests he travel via the Hudson's Bay Company settlement at the mouth of the Columbia. Asks for pine cone samples from the Columbia River. The British pro-consul in Mexico, Ewen C. Mackintosh will help him send the samples back to Ogilby. Melchor Ocampo, a large Mexican proprietor is an enthusiastic naturalist and could be useful in any pursuits taken in Mexico. Asks for animal samples from Mexico, and promises to publish observations in the Athenaeum. First part of letter is missing.
