AbstractLetter from Charles Pettit. Philadelphia - Desires that harmony and good understanding may be cultivated between the public servants and the government of South Carolina; has no doubt the President of that State has good reasons for detaining vessels mentioned in Mr. Livingston's letter. Directions concerning these vessels, which are to be loaded with rice. Urges prompt obedience on Mr. Livingston's part to directions which may be given to him.
