AbstractLetter from David Salisbury Franks to William Temple Franklin. Fears that his prolonged stay, waiting for a vessel, will be very expensive to the Government at home. The number of people arrived with the French fleets of war have caused a scarcity of necessaries of life; prices are very high. The "St. James," Capt. Thomas Truxton, probably the first vessel which will sail for America about Jan. 15. His situation very unpleasant and embarrassing. Was arrested the other day on suspicion of being a spy.
