AbstractAttempt by the trustees of the museum to raise money for the erection of a new building to house Peale's Museum. Faced with recurring financial difficulties, the museum had been formerly incorporated in 1821 under the name of the Philadelphia Museum Company. The new building referred to in the broadside was finally erected in 1838.
