AbstractLetter from Clement Biddle to Nathanael Greene. Favorable reports from Colonel Hay concerning forage and horses. Difficulty of getting in forage. Roads to Trenton and to North River must be repaired. Mr. Forman's and Colonel Hooper's inability to provide the required amount of forage. On the strength of a report that the enemy were preparing to cross over from Staten Island to Jersey, got ready for them, but they failed to materialize. Thinks they might attack Elizabethtown. Would like to have the Brigade Artillery.
