Abstract | Expresses hope that [Francis] Dana will be appointed a judge or attorney general because he is well qualified; mentions the "rash Anger" of an old friend [Robert Treat Paine] and a quarrel with the latter about "some Important Points of Rank," which seems to have blown over; remarks that the evacuation of Boston is a great event, urges that the harbor be fortified, and argues that the Tories will prevail upon Britain to send another expedition against the town; points out that some people still expect British commissioners to treat with Congress and all demand that they grant a bill of rights; inquires how much powder was furnished to the Continental army from the Boston or the Massachusetts magazines and urges that the magazines be replenished. | ||
