AbstractCommunicated by Jefferson, with note attirbuting to William Thornton, as taken from Little Turtle and William Wells, the translator. Manuscript copied from a Jefferson standard vocabulary, with entries from two informants in different columns, with orthography explained in advance and peculiarities noted. "Taken at the City of Washington in part from Little Turtle, but principally from Capt. Wells, the Interpreter."
