Writing now about Tsekami, father of Tisamgut. Wife is very sick with dysentery and brother sick also. Asks Boas to send dysentery medicine like that given by Dr. Hillmantle when in Chicago.

- Description
- Received letters of May 19th and 29th. Sending pages 4738-4791 "in the old fashion language about ega or medicine killers." Will write about funeral customs next. Will be glad to help Frederica de Laguna, though is concerned she may not make it farther than Port Hardy as there are few people who know about "old fashion" people though his sister who lives there claims to. Not sure that speakers of G̱usgimukw dialect can be found as "they are losing their language," as the Kwagu'ł, Tłatła̱siḵwaḻ a, 'Nak'waxda'xw̱ , and Wuikinuxv tribes "spoilt their language." Has had trouble with his hip for more than a year and needed to use a walking stick, but is feeling better lately. Looking forward to Boas's visit.
