AbstractA satirical depiction of the January 23rd opening of Parliament. William Pitt is depicted as a messenger riding a donkey, bearing the Treaty of Commerce with France and leading a group advancing to meet Charles James Fox and his supporters. Fox is riding a cannon from which a blast inscribed "Voice of the People" issues. George III is visible inside the state coach in the background.
