Originally contained with letter from Samuel Miller to Ebenezer Hazard, October 24, 1810, indicating to Hazard that he had been elected an honorary member of the society. Requests receiver to "promote the objects of our institution" by transmitting books, pamphlets, maps, and manuscripts on various subjects and includes a specific request for "statistical tables- -tables of diseases, births, and deaths, and of population; of meteorological observations and facts relating to climate."
