| Abstract | | "Nick Milton speaks in Tlingit about the song. The spirits were the children of the Sun and of a teqwedi woman whose relatives had all been killed in a war. These spirits came from SE Alaska but passed over all the other sibs. They came first to Xatgawet, a rich teqwedi shaman who lived on Knight Island, and were later inherited by t'ek'-ic who died in the 1880's." |
