Letter from De Smet, Idaho, on Coeur d'Alene reserve. Sent photos of Klickatat baskets before leaving. Experiencing some delays due to unfamiliarity with the area. Unable to bring Nlaka'pamux interpreter. Stopped in Nicola to inquire on story of language similar to Thompson to the south. Gives details of place names mentioned by speaker. Think the area referred to may be Lapwai, Nez Perce country. Mentions similarities and differences of landscape, reserves, and politics with thos in BC.
