- Received 2 maps of Knight Inlet and have put place names on them. Found there are no clover beds there. Learned that the A̱wa̱ʼetła̱la and Da̱ʼnaxdaʼx̱w have wild cherry tree beds and goat hunting mountains for each nEmemot. Wife said that is similar for the 'Nak'waxda'x̱w. There was high costs to getting all the information, including that on olachen traps. Sent pages 1353-1360 on March 30. Sending pages 1361-1382, with Knight Inlet names and answers to questions.

- Description
- Received letters of May 19th and 29th. Sending pages 4738-4791 "in the old fashion language about ega or medicine killers." Will write about funeral customs next. Will be glad to help Frederica de Laguna, though is concerned she may not make it farther than Port Hardy as there are few people who know about "old fashion" people though his sister who lives there claims to. Not sure that speakers of G̱usgimukw dialect can be found as "they are losing their language," as the Kwagu'ł, Tłatła̱siḵwaḻ a, 'Nak'waxda'xw̱ , and Wuikinuxv tribes "spoilt their language." Has had trouble with his hip for more than a year and needed to use a walking stick, but is feeling better lately. Looking forward to Boas's visit.
