Abstract | Received letter of August 27. Sending 4 pages with 23 examples of hEnkwa or saying of wishing an enemy to die. Went to Gwaʼsa̱la village in Smith Inlet to get part of the wailing song from the woman who can tell it. The story covers 23 generations. Has written 87 pages so far. Will send in next mail. Thinks he can get two more examples of this kind of wailing song/story, one G̱usgimukw, one 'Nak'waxda'xw . "I will try to get them, for it is the only true story a woman can tell." "And another thing the woman at Gwaʼsa̱la told me that she would not tell tell anyone about her family historie. It is only the kindness I have towards son [that has] made her tell it to me." Eyesight has been getting worse recently. | ||
